May 23, 2012 Science--Habitats

Good morning Grade 4!
    I hope you are enjoying the Habitats unit, I know I am!
 Today we are going to explore Habitats on the computer, using a couple of different interactive sites.  On one site you are going to be asked to take a quiz and then report your score to Mrs. D. or myself.    On another site you will learn lots of information about why some animals live (or don't live) in specific areas!   After looking at these sites you will be filling in a worksheet for us, so MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE INFORMATION!

Hi 4A!
  I hope you are having a good day so far!   Sorry I can't be with you today, but I know you are all on you BEST BEHAVIOR for our guest teacher!!  Remember to work quietly at your own computer and RAISE your hand if you have a question!
    I would like you to work with your spelling words today!  Please try the following site---Spelling City.com, the link is in the list on the side! 
     When you get to the site you will see a spot to type in your words on the left side of the page.  It shows only room for 3 words, but if you hit Enter after each word, it will add more.
      Once you have 15 words, hit the 'Play Games' button and have fun!   There are lots of games that you can then play with YOUR words!
   I hope you have fun!

Math Work!!!

    I heard you all loved the math activities the last time you were at the computer lab!   I have added another group for you to explore...DECIMALS!!
    You can choose which sites you are going to work on.  Remeber to work on your own, quietly!   There is no need to talk to your neighbors for this activity!

Hi 4A!    Sorry I can't be there this afternoon.  I hope you are all working hard! 
  Don't forget your homework books are due tomorrow!   We need 4 reading entries, 2 letters and your math sheets done.  Someof you who have had missing parts for 2 weeks will recieve a call home if the work is not complete this week.
   Also remeber tomorrrow is the field trip to Charlottetown.  You willneed to pack a snack and a lunch, but there is NO MICROWAVE!!  So make sure you pack something you do not need to heat or cook!

Welcome 2012

Welcome 2012!   Wow!  The first half of the year went by so quick!   I hope everyone had agreat vacation, with lots of fun, family and rest! 
    We are just finishing our Math unit on Telling Time.  Make sure you practice this at home, both digital and anologe!
     Don't forget to keep reading at home!  I want to hear about the books you are reading!

New School Year Almost Here!!!

I hope everyone is having an amazing summer!!  I know I have!!  Are you getting excited about comming back to school!   Grade 4 is going to be awesome!  I hope everyone has their supply list.

Lots of New Sites!!

Well, it has taken me a while but I have finally added a group of new sites.  These sites are all related to reading and writing!  A great place to practice some of the editing skills we are learning in class with Mr. Mac!
   Yesterday our class took part in The largest Birthday party for David Suzuki!  It was an interesting expereince, althought technical difficulties made it difficult to follow!

    I hope everyone had a great March Break!  Angel in our class had an exciting break, as her and her family welcomed a new baby boy, named Hayden! Congratulations!  We look forward to seeing pictures and hearing stories!
